How are y'all? Anyone disrupting townhall meetings? I have an electronically amplified bullhorn from last year's election season getting dusty in
my basement if anyone is interested.

Hi Twila! It's always nice to hear from you. I am dreading March, myself. I can't believe summer is almost over; I haven't done half the things I
wanted to. I did see some Perseids the night before.
What have you been up too? |

March means it's my birthday !!

What day in March? My birthday is in February, but I sure don't want to have February anytime soon.
Are you Southern people getting sick of the hot, muggy weather? I have temps in the 80s and have to get my outdoor work done by morning, otherwise it's too hot. Except for this week, it's been so cold that we hardly had a summer. Now the forcast looks like I'm going to get my whole summer crammed into two weeks. |

we have been baking in heat that was scheduled for Arizona I believe. A high pressure over west Texas kept all the rain away for the most part, then we got
like a week of non-stop rain that just ran off the dirt because it was so fast and the scorched earth couldn't absorb it. So it pooled all over allowing
steam to rise up off the areas, and made great homes for skeeters, and brought the muggy into our lives for about two weeks now.
I think it is true about the dry heat not being as hard to tolerate, we were having 101- 105 temps and it was cooler than the 92-96 temps we are having now with the muggy air. Walgreens has marked their summer stock 505 off and I went and bought two high velocity fans for me for the yard, i have a 100 foot extension cord and a circuit breaker on the end, and aim two fans across me while I weed out there and move them as needed. It's been a glorious two days in the yard ! I got lazy yesterday and didn't want to bring them in so I tossed plastic garbage bags over them and tucked it under in case we got an odd shower or a male cat decided to mark my fans. Worked out, I did unplug from the house so they couldn't turn on without me there. March 12. 1958 |

Every summer I made sure to reread some of my favorite books outside, just for fun reading. I've read LOTR each summer of my adult life and His Dark
Materials every other summer and a few other favorites. I've had such a busy/cold summer I haven't done that yet this year.

Someone came in my yard one night and stole my little dog and my huge male guard cat about three weeks ago. my little dog was almost 14 years old, i watched
him like a hawk in the heat because he was solid black as was my tuxedo cat {except his tie and gloves} Whoever stole them is going to be very sorry in the
long run, the dog had gotten to poor bladder control overnight. and the male cat even though he was fixed learned to "spray" from the wild male cats
around here and marked a sofa that had to go to the curb. I hope they have fine antique furniture and oriental rugs in their house.

I am shocked and truly sad to hear that jane. Did you put out fliers? It is possible that after a few days, the thieves could let him go once they find out
about his peeing. I'd check with shelters and put ads in the classifieds in a wide area. People like that just don't care.
Also, are you certain he was stolen? Older dogs with hearing problems and cataracts often get confused and easily get lost. |

It breaks my heart to hear about your 2 babies Jane, I hope they somehow find their way home to you.
I haven't even turned on my A/C this summer. I'm thankful that the nights cool off where I am. But I'm still sleeping with a wool blanket. This past week has been the hottest all year, its like summer has just arrived. |

Hey, Platoshrimp. I've been up to too much; been busier than ever. We opened a business, have a staff, and all the enormity and minutiae you'd
expect with a such venture. Exhausted, but life is good. How about you? |

My Summer has been hectic and no doing fun stuff either. Now I'm having a chance to catch up on Summer stuff and don't want to think as far ahead as
March.
Jane, my heart goes out to you. I know how you must feel. |

I'm sorry to hear about your pets Jane. I have heard stories around here about people stealing dogs for breeding purposes, but this is the first time
I've heard of stealing and dog and a cat.
Let the poor girl go, and that poor little dog, DoDo. Elphaba, I know you dont want to hear this, but somebody has to say it. You
are out of control! I mean, come on! They're just shoes! Let it go!

Yes two on the same night is odd, now get this someone came and dug up all the ivy I planted last week in the front yard !! I knew someone came about a week
ago and cut three of my giant sunflowers, and I thought it was odd but apparently someone likes my stuff ! Last month two angel panters got stolen from the
side yard, I think somebody did all of this! Hubby says it's my fault being to nice to everyone in the neighborhood, and they can see I'm crippled up
and an easy mark. and they meet the pets and see they follow and come when you call etc.

That completely sucks Jane. I wonder if it's the same person doing it all.
I hope you know that it is NOT your fault. There are assholes abound in this world. Plato I envy you being able to go outside in the Summer time and read a book. I'd either keel over from from heat stroke or burn to a crisp here. I like your idea about the fans Jane. Sugar and spice and everything nice! |

I love my high velocity fans ! when the mister fans go half price I'm getting two of those too. I'm making a wind tunnel in my backyard. I'm going
to rig them up next spring in my trres with rubber hoods so if it rains they are OK.
So mr Minnow is obviously a laten cross dresser, he loves to wear the pink princess hat and tutu, not the kings robe so much. I wish you guys could see him walking in the yard in his hat and tutu. He is adorable. He has decided the small sportsman grill is going to be his sitting place outside and he rests on the grill between runs down the catwalk. |
