Amazingly I saw people trying to sell the denial email that was sent out by the Staples Center on Ebay. Who the hell would buy that, anyway?

jackie, i don't know if you ever listen to kfai but they have a great show called "crap from the past" and his mj memorial show was awesome.
there's probably a podcast of it online somewhere.
ok, just gotta say somehwere... i heard this over and over last week, but, the dude wasn't the greatest entertainer of all time. i don't even know if he's top ten last century. james brown makes him look like an american idol contestent. and the moonwalk was the most overrated 4 seconds in tv history. people were easily impressed back then. too soon? he did some great stuff pre 1985 but after that he didn't have much to add to pop culture and that's my entire relationship with him, via pop culture. so, as far as he relates to me he's been dead for a long time. i never knew him, it's his songs i interacted with and his songs still exist on my itunes so nothing has changed. of course it was touching to see the memorial because that's the nature of funerals. eta: The move commonly referred to as the moonwalk was originally known as the backslide, or "walking on your toes." Similar steps are reported as far back as 1932, used by Cab "Minnie the Moocher" Calloway.[4] It was first recorded in 1955 in a performance by tap dancer Bill Bailey.[5] The French mime artist, Marcel Marceau, used it throughout his career (from the 1940s through the 1980s), as part of the drama of his mime routines. Marceau's famous "Walking Against the Wind" routine was the original influence that Jackson drew from, in which Marceau pretends to be pushed backwards by a gust of wind.[6] Prior to Jackson, James Brown had used the move,[7] for example in the 1980 film The Blues Brothers. David Bowie was probably the first rock musician to perform it, though he remained stationary.[8] An embryonic version of the move appears in Bowie's 1960s mime pieces; he had studied mime under Étienne Decroux, Marceau's teacher,[9] and under Lindsay Kemp, who had trained with Marceau. By the time of his 1974 Diamond Dogs Tour, Michael Jackson was among those attending Bowie's Los Angeles shows, later remarking on Bowie's strange moves.[10] Another early moonwalker was Jeffrey Daniel, who moonwalked in a performance of Shalamar's "A Night To Remember" on Top of the Pops in 1982.[11] |

The moonwalk was done way back in the 20's (I saw some documentary on Black entertainers once, when I was dateless on a Saturday night. Much like now, in
fact. Perhaps it's time to get a FWB again.)

I was shocked to learn his jackets {costume tops} weighed 30 -40 lbs apiece. he weighed 105. That is tough to dance in I'm sure.
Shocked to hear his veins on his arms were collapsed and he had track marks on his neck. And he took 30 or more xanex a night. He was in real trouble and didn't want help. I feel sorry that Docs were so wowed to be in the inner circle they let this happen. Poor guy, don't think he had many real friends in his life. Saw videos today with his children when they were very young, they were so adorable. |

jane1958 wrote:HOLY SHIT!!! that is a lot of pills. I will withhold judgment on the doctors until I find out just exactly who was prescribing what. He may have been doctor shopping and getting prescriptions from numerous docs. The doctors may not have been aware that he was getting scripts from other docs for the same meds. if the rumor is true about the track marks then I find it hard to see how they were overlooked (unless he wore high collared shirts during exams). If those in his inner circle were letting him use their names to get the meds then they ought to be charged in my opinion. I know that with my pain management doctor that I had to sign an agreement not to get narcotics and similar drugs from other doctors. Plus I had to agree to submit to random drug tests to make sure I only have what is prescribed to me in my system. Sugar and spice and everything nice! |

Even worse was the one pharmacy he used, he had an outstanding bill of 100 grand and they were threatening to sue him. so he paid up. Now that pharmacist knew
something was wrong a long time ago. According to the gossip shows he had a whole third floor set up as a hospital type wing, and his kids were not allowed on
the floor.

marry, sadly years later he approached me and let me know he made a big mistake and wondered if I was willing to skip off with him and begin a new life.

Jackson popped 55 different pills everyday
LONDON - Late Michael Jackson had been popping a total of 55 different pills everyday in his final six months, according to reports. Drug Enforcement Agency officers have found dozens of bottles, boxes and bags of pills while searching the property in Holmby Hills where Jackson died. It included Among other drugs they seized the highly dangerous surgical anaesthetic Propofol, which is legally available only to hospital patients and is administered via intravenous injection.included in the seizure were the potent painkillers Demerol and OxyContin. One LA-based doctor described the astonishing cache of drugs as a "guaranteed cocktail of death". Tests confirm MJ had lethal drug cocktail in his body LONDON - Tests have confirmed that King of Pop Michael Jackson had a cocktail of powerful painkiller Demerol and heroin substitute methadone in his body when he died. According to reports, the drugs found in the star's body were strong enough to have killed any normal person instantly. Preliminary toxicology reports have been submitted to the Los Angeles county coroner's office. "Michael Jackson was a walking drug store when he died - he never stood a chance," the Sun quoted a case insider as saying. The newspaper report says that apart from high levels of Demerol and Methadone, blood tests also revealed high levels of anti-anxiety drug XANAX in the singer's body. Tests have also confirmed the presence of prescription painkiller Vicodin, anti-anxiety pills Valium and the sleeping drug Ambien in Jackson's body. A significant amount of narcotic Dilaudid, normally used to numb post-surgery pain, was discovered, added the report. Another post-op painkiller called Fentanyl was also found in "therapeutic" levels. This is known to be 100 times more potent than morphine. It further states that lower levels of Propofol, an anaesthetic for hospital use only, were also present in the 'Thriller' hitmaker's body. "Tests showed that as well as Demerol and methadone, he had taken four more painkillers and anaesthetics plus anti-anxiety pills. http://blog.taragana.com/e/2009/07/11/tests-confirm-mj-had-lethal-drug-cocktail-in-his-body-15831/ |

2nd Custody Hearing Is Canceled as Jackson Relatives Hold Talks
http://www.nytimes.com/2009/07/18/us/18jackson.html Jackson's mother may challenge will executors Michael Jackson's mother asked for a judge's ruling Friday on whether she can challenge the authority of two men named in her son's will as executors of his estate without being disinherited. favorable ruling could pave the way for 79-year-old Katherine Jackson to seek control of her son's estate, which has an estimated value of more than $500 million. Katherine's attorneys note that the 2002 will has a "no contest" clause, meaning that anyone who wants to dispute the will gets nothing. http://www.google.com/hostednews/ap/article/ALeqM5hPbPOZwNM9_5_F5Kl9iNVSvu3JqwD99GJBS80 Hollywood Studios Bidding for Rights to Michael Jackson Footage As of Saturday morning, Sony Pictures and 20th Century Fox had emerged as the leading contenders in a Hollywood auction of film rights to the rehearsal videos of Michael Jackson's aborted concert tour, though other studios continued to press bids. Outcome of the auction is expected some time next week. By Saturday, people who were briefed on the auction - who spoke on condition of anonymity, because they were not authorized to discuss it - said Fox and Sony appeared to have made the most aggressive push for the rights. Sony, according to two people, appeared to be the most likely buyer, in part because Sony Music has rights to Mr. Jackson's music and would be in a better position than other buyers to exploit a concert film. It was not immediately clear how much was currently being offered for the rights. Bids were reported by Deadlinehollywooddaily.com to have begun at $50 million. http://mediadecoder.blogs.nytimes.com/2009/07/18/hollywood-studios-bidding-for-rights-to-michael-jackson-footage/ Jackson Doc Declines to Chat with Cops We're told the LAPD planned a third interview with Dr. Murray earlier in the week -- the doctor was interviewed the day Jackson died and again two days later. We've learned Dr. Conrad Murray canceled an interview with the LAPD. sources say the cops called the lawyer back and they were referred to the lawyer's lawyer who said Dr. Murray's lawyer would not be speaking to them! She said Jackson proposed when she was five months pregnant. ``He said let's get married, so I said OK,'' she saidShe had a miscarriage before the birth of their first child, Prince Michael, and married Jackson only ``to prevent some of the taboo of a child out of wedlock.'' Rowe said she split with Jackson in 1999 because she was sick of the media attention, but first instructed him to cover the faces of their children in public because she feared they would be kidnapped. http://www.news.com.au/perthnow/story/0,21598,25801295-5005368,00.html Director -- Jackson's Burns Weren't My Fault The director of the 1984 Pepsi commercial in which Michael Jackson's hair caught on fire is slamming the people who claim it was all his fault.
