First, I need someone to kick my ass for volunteering (and allowing myselg to be volunteered) to do the grant. Second, I need my ass kicked for offering to find other sources for grants (already did one; now I've a third one to do). I kept putting it off. Now I have no choice (thank God I work well under pressure)! Encouragement much needed. I'll be coming back to this thread on a regular basis bitching and ranting for the next few days. Then I'll be throwing a party when it's done. Hell I might even have a real drink. Sugar and spice and everything nice!

It's also hard to describe how we know that our program has been successful. We don't provide money, groceries, or utility assistance. What we provide is a safe environment for parents and siblings who have lost a child or sibling to be able to freely speak about what they are going through. We all lean on each other for the strength to make it. Our measures are self-report and subjective abservation. Also it is really hard to explain to people just why this organization is so needed. Nobody understands the need to be with others who have gone through it unless they have gone through it themselves. it is hard to convey just how devastating and cut to the core the lost of your child is. We need this group. It has kept several of us from giving up. It gives you hope to see someone who is further along in their recovery being able to function. Problem is how to explain that using statistics, and the 'Evidence Based Program Model.' I've gotten quite a bit accomplished. I'm going to go visit my favorite friend and take a breather. I can work on some the narrative at home and copy it to a disk to bring back her. So yeah any suggestions would be grestly appreciated. Sugar and spice and everything nice!

I came over here to work on it but this has turned into one of those days I'd rather just forget (it started that way before I even got up though). I am going to Kansas next month for a combo workshops/vacation. Looking forward ro that. We have enough real kids names (about 200 in 26 years) that there is no need to fake them. I'm have an appointment with a cardiologist Tuesday. My hope is that it's just a minor thing. That will determine whether or not I get to go to Kansas. I'll probably go regardless. I need a stress break. I finished writing the grant about 11:00p.m. Thursday night at the TCF office. Then it took another hour to make 7 copies of it plus a few copies each of grants that another person was working on. Sugar and spice and everything nice!
