these are some ways i use that stuff:
vinegar can replace fabric softener...1/4 cup in the softener thingy of the machine, then just half a dryer sheet to make sure the smell goes away in the dryer. clothes are waaaay softer.
vinegar, water (i eyeball it, but there are recipes all over the net) and a squirt of dish soap in a spray bottle cleans counters, sinks, windows, mirrors, floors, and most non-wood surfaces.
baking soda and salt will clear a drain, without chemicals (i forget the ratios and method but its all over the net). both are also abrasive so work to give some grit if you need it when you use the vinegar/water combo.
clean the bathtub by spraying with above solution then sprinkle baking soda and scrub. it worked as well as a magic eraser.
there a million websites and blogs about this, just google (its your friend!) frugal living, or homemade cleaning products.
there are a couple of recipes out there for homemade laundry detergent, both powder and liquid , that i'm tempted to try, but havent gone there yet. it works out to less than 3 cents a load or something stupid like that.

Quiche is still looking good~!
