Did you send a birthday card to Gramma? Or did you transfer your portfolio offshore? Or did you just resist the temptation to respond to one of jester's threads?
What did you do to make yourself feel good?

Warren Buffet said the whole economy is going off a cliff, we're in the shit fer sure, so what makes you feel good now?

Zero credit card debt. It's about the only thing I have going for me right now, but it's something.
You say I'm a bitch like it's a bad thing...

That's a kudo, except I already gave you one.
I had all credit card debt paid off, and then I blew it for Christmas. I guess he won't get that outdoor sauna next Christmas. |

Zero debt except for housing, and, I canceled the car I was going to buy. Public transportation will have to continue to work for me. I had to cut way back,
so, it went bye bye.

i'm a little proud of the way i've been saving by using non-commercial/homemade cleaners. a jug of white vinegar, some baking soda, lemon juice and
salt and i've just cleaned my bathroom and kitchen without hurting my pets, my family, the environment or my bank account.
i'm proud that the bf and i are able to discuss our money woes without freaking out or fighting. we're a good team that way. i'm still proud of the way little shoe's dad and i have handled her 'custody' arrangement all these years (12+ so far) without having to employ a lawyer or talk to a judge. of course, i'm most proud of my kid who has been getting big kudos for her artwork and musical abililty at school and is genuinely a nice kid.

My nearly complete collection of state quarters.
Have any Hawaiian quarters made it to the mainland yet? |

I resisted a Shamrock shake. I know, pathetic. On another day, I may have a much better contribution.

I paid off my credit cards a while ago and it's been several years since I paid any credit card interest (I'll only carry a balance on 0% deals and pay
off before the deal runs out). I actually increased my 401K contribution (buy low...but how low can it go?)

plato, its not martha motivated as much as its money motivated. cleaning stuff is expensive, the other beneficial stuff is bonus, really.
the bf will not fight. about anything. he is also unaware of my current VISA balance.

I hear you EShoe. Please don't sell yourself short.
I know I'm supposed to condition my hair with mayonnaise (just for example) but I'm just too not into that. Maybe next year I will be. Depending on the market. I think you are great and Martha really doesn't have anything to do with it (except that a Canadian Martha is just out there, waiting in the wings). But you certainly could start a trend. I think you should try to start a segment on your local early morning show. That was a good tip on how to save money. You are photogenic. And everyone wants to save money now. |

I'm proud that I've hung on to my part-time job for over 2 years. At this point I can't see quitting any time soon, I fear the economic outlook.

Cool things to be proud of, people. Eshoe, your cleaning product is intriguing; would you mind sharing the proportions of the contents? I used Amway SA8 for
the laundry, and have for many years. It is environmentally friendly.

After my trite citation of proudness, I wanted to come back and say I am proud of Barack Obama for lifting the stem cell research ban,
and proud we voted in a president who sees the value in stem cell research. {I haven't been able to insert images or URLs for over a week - is anyone else having this problem?}
