Yes and no, HarrDean. I know of lasers that fire, by using a big bank of high-voltage capacitors discharging through an industrial-sized flashlamp. It makes a nice big bang, and operators typically wear hearing protection.

My anechoic chamber is for using an RF (radar freq.) emitter in attempts to fry targets that are typically optical detectors. Little or no noise there.

Holy crap Jane! There is definitely someone watching after you. I am happy that you are okay.

I am proud of my son. He may be gone but he did a remarkable job dealing with a serious mental illness at the age of 23. I know people close to 50 who refuse to deal with theirs.

I have no camera ! It's in chuncks now in the front yard waiting on the city truck for tree limbs. They guy who sawed it charged 5 dollars a foot to remove it from the back yard. Like i had 300 to toss about for the damned limb. It knocked out two fences, which i have to figure out how to fix. i think if i put in new poles in concrete on this side and push it back up against them and secure them i'll be OK until I can afford a good fence. if you wash dishes by hand you can cut the grease in the dishwater with about 2 tab of vinegar with the dish soap.

Pour it on the cracks in the driveway to kill the weeds that grow between the concrete, it's safe for animals unlike commercial weed killers.

I use it to make a pot of coffee twice a year, it makes it run faster. I'd rather use vinegar than some unknown (to me) chemicals they sell.

When they replaced my washing machine drain hose it was clear plastic, after a year it was blueish black, and after I started adding vinegar to my loads it was clear again within a month...and I don't do alot of wash. I think it turned blueish from using ERA soap which had blue coloring added, and dirt.

I've been using vineagar for years as a floor cleaner. Not only is it inexpensive, but it's good for allergies (it 's good against dust mites).
